Biography

I am a PhD Student in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence (AI) at Ca' Foscari University (Venice, Italy), under the supervision of Professor Andrea Albarelli.

Previously, I obtained both my BSc and MSc in Computer Science (summa cum laude) at the University of Padua, where I was a member of the VIMP research group directed by Professor Lamberto Ballan. I originally began my PhD at the University of British Columbia (Vancouver, Canada) under the supervision of Professor Cristina Conati within the Human-centred Artificial Intelligence group. However, due to health issues, I returned to Italy and restarted my doctoral journey at Ca' Foscari, where I am currently affiliated.

My research primarily focuses on how to bring AI into production for the corporate world, as well as the explainability of Deep Learning models. I am deeply interested in the impact of technology on society and the environment, and I aim to bring ethical and anthropocentric perspectives to its adoption. Driven by this vision, in 2024 I founded MirAI, a startup aimed at bringing the benefits of Generative AI to companies through appropriate governance.
